In a few short weeks you will be two years old. Where did our precious time go? Our baby?
This past year with you has been so much fun. Watching you grow and learn and become you. You are the happiest boy I know, from dusk till dawn. It amazes me how you don’t let things bother you for long (except when it comes to extra sleep). From the moment you were born, I knew how special you were. You are the glue that holds this family together and we couldn’t be more grateful. You are such a wonderful gift to me and daddy.
This year has been full of milestones. One of your favorite things to do is JUMP! You spent weeks willing your little body off the ground and now you are a pro. You jump with such enthusiasm, it’s hard for us not to join in! Especially when there is dancing involved. Oh, how you love to dance and dance, telling me or daddy to “Come on!” because you don’t want to dance alone.
Trains and cars are your latest favorite things. Actually, you love anything with wheels and have so much fun pointing out to mommy and daddy each car, bus and truck that you see! “Look! A bus!”
Sometimes, you will spend an hour or more, just pushing your train or cars around in the living room. The movie Cars is one of your favorite movies, and you love reading the book, and pointing out all of the characters to whoever will listen. You are also so much in love with “Dora”. Oh, how you love to talk about her and “Boots”. For the longest time, neither Daddy or I knew what “Dora” meant when you would talk about her. We finally figured it out, and you haven’t stopped talking about her since.
One of the things I love most about you is that everything you say always gets an “s” at the end. You love drinking from your “cups” or eating “cookies” when you only have one. You vocabulary is huge and you are constantly repeating everything we say. Articulation is not your strong point, but you’ll learn in due time. You amaze us everyday with how smart you are.
Another thing that I love about you is how you react when you bump into something or fall down. You get so angry at whatever caused you harm. I was so sure you wouldn’t get over stubbing your toe on the concrete. A whole week went by, and everyday you saw a sidewalk you would yell at it, “No concrete!”. You were very upset. You have absolutely no problem telling these objects how it is. The nerve of them being there when you are!
You are such a sweet boy. I love when you ask me for a kiss unexpected, or run up to me and wrap your tiny arms around my legs. You are always caring about me or Daddy and are quick to ask us if we are ok if you suspect we might be down or upset. You are the sweetest boy I know, I hope you never change.
I love you so much Bear, my Wessy. You always bring me so much joy. Some days I will just look at you when you are playing, just jabbering away to yourself and I am so overwhelmed by how lucky I am. You will never know how much you mean to me, how much our family has changed because of you. You are so incredibly special.
I love you so.
Love, Mama
